The following case study from Telemedia8.1 sponsors MCP Insight shows how DCB traffic is supported by the combination of their MCP Net (powered by MCP Scanner) and MCP Shield solutions and supports their clients in tackling DCB advertising and payment fraud.
In 2018, a rise in DCB complaints prompted STC Kuwait to consider its strategy to safeguard its consumers from potential DCB advertising and payment fraud. STC introduced a One Time Password (OTP) payment flow to deal with immediate complaints.
STC and its Aggregator partner Idex, selected MCP Insight to implement its advertising monitoring system ‘MCP Scanner’, to target misleading advertising and bad experience consumer journeys. This was followed in 2019 by the introduction of MCP’s anti-fraud system ‘MCP Shield’.
Within 12 months of working with STC, advertising compliance increased from 40% to 98% and has remained 95%+ and improving dcb traffic results.
MCP Shield implementation blocked payment fraud and within 12 months fraud traffic attempts have reduced from 65% to 30%. At the same time, the number of active brands on STC has grown.
“Working with STC and Partners , in particular IDEX, to implement an anti-fraud and compliance monitoring system, gives assurance that the transaction is legitimate and provides a platform for sustainable business growth”. Toby Padgham, MCP Insight.
