A striking sculpture, depicting two huge hands, has been unveiled at Liverpool Cathedral as part of a new exhibition that opened on 27 July and will run until 30 September. The free exhibition, titled ‘Being Human’, is a result of a collaboration with acclaimed sculptor and artist, Peter Walker and is being run to help raise funds through voluntary donations for the renewal and upkeep of the cathedral.

However, the Covid-19 pandemic caused them to lose more than 20% of expected donations and earned income this year. So, organisers have turned to Fonix to increase the amount of mobile donations being made, enabling Liverpool Cathedral to “build back stronger”, says the company.

Fonix is supporting the exhibition through mobile interactivity where supporters can text ‘CATHEDRAL’ followed by a colour to 70152 to donate £2 via mobile donation. This action not only raises donations, but also changes the colour of the lighting that spotlights the giant hands (see below).

The exhibition is just one example to show the range of opportunities and creativity that can be done through text donations, enabling an interactive and exciting experience for supporters.
